History
Mission Bend Church of Christ was founded in the mid-1980's by then Sharpstown Church of Christ and several dedicated Christian families and individuals who wanted to place a Church of Christ in the rapidly growing Mission Bend/West Houston area. After meeting in schools and strip centers for a while, the site where the church now sits was chosen and acquired. A modular style church building was purchased and has been well-maintained and enhanced over the years.
The people of the Church of Christ believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and is the sole source of religious doctrine and instruction for worship of God and life as a Christian. We do not add to the doctrine of the Bible by way of creeds or other teachings from historical theologians, nor do we exclude any doctrine found in the Bible. As such, we consider the Church of Christ to be un-denominational.
The people of Mission Bend Church of Christ come from a variety of backgrounds, but we all are one family because we are in the pursuit of the same goal - to worship God in truth in spirit in the name of our Lord and Master Jesus Christ and to have good Christian fellowship with one another.
